| The string of former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern gondolas, now on the Gary Rwy roster, head down the former EJ&E trackage in Griffith, IN. Note the new LED signals installed by CN a few years after the purchase of the EJ&E. Major upgrades have taken place along the former line - new crossovers, turnouts, switch heaters, signals, improved ROW drainage, tie & ballast replacements, landscape sound barriers, and cmproved crossing barriers to mention a few. As a result, there is a steady flow of traffic headed up by both CN and foreign power. |
